This is a great, very detailed drawing book. I am an elementary art teacher - I bought it for my 12 year old daughter and I am extremely pleased with the step by step detail. I can't wait for her to start drawing from it! It will be challenging and fun.

Another book is to be read, with further history of WWII, told in the first person. The lessons learned are slowly being forgotten, and they must not be. These stories help to preserve them. Read them.

This is the third book in the series "the Things Our Father's Saw" that I have read. I was first drawn to it as like many of my generation from the baby boomers I never questioned my dad about the experiences he had in the War in the Pacific and realized how important it would be for me to understand what the men and women of our nation went through. Each book has helped me understand that and although it is too late to tell my father how proud I am of his service it is not to late to make sure I let every veteran I meet that I am thankful for what he had done for our country.

Excellent first person accounts of some of our World War Two veterans, as they lived through them during some very trying times as they fought to preserve our democracy for future generations. I will definitely read more of Matthew Rozell's books as I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I am glad this was only $2.99. What is here is good and I absolutely support histories of this kind, but there is not much content here.

Hat's off to the men and women that saved our nation and the world from fanatical tyranny. It is almost too late for us to get their stories. Thanks so much for all of your efforts.

I am a CULINARIA series fan. I own this book, plus the other CULINARIA entries on Spain, France, USA,Germany and, most recently, Italy. I am of Cuban origin, grew up in Puerto Rico, and have visited almost all the Caribbean islands at one time or another (I think I am only missing Haiti and Antigua!). I was simply amazed by the whirlwind tour through the Caribbean that the editor(Ms. Parkinson) takes us; it is a veritable travelogue of the multitude of foods and cultures of the Caribbean islands.However, I was sometimes puzzled by her choices. For example, she chose not to hightlight the Puerto Rican rum industry (enormous and world-renowned) while she focused on the peppermint candy production(?) on the island. Generally, her whole treatment of the food history, industry and recipes of the bigger islands (Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico) is...well, skimpy.Although I understand that the food and cultures of the smaller islands are usually not served well by compilation books such as this one, I felt that the book need to delve deeper, be more comprehensive and fair to all the islands. After all, the Caribbean islands have more in common with each other than they are dissimilar.However, I believe that the book is a wonderful travel guide through the beautiful island worlds of the deep blue and warmth of the Caribbean! Not the strongest addition to the CULINARIA series, but still worth the trouble of obtaining and enjoying!

Both my parents are from the West Indies (Barbados & St. Vincent) and I have seen a lot of cookbooks about the Caribbean. This was the first book that provided SO much detail and the pictures where so life-like. It transports you to the island with pictures rich in colour and recipes from every island. Don't tell anyone, but I actually bought this for my wife :). She's the type of person that always feels she should be doing something else instead of what she is doing right now.Under the guise of it being a "bedtime story" for our children, she has now read it several times. The kids are also quoting it, so she's getting reinforcement that way too.Very smart, very practical book that every one should read over and over again. Highly recommended.

A great tool for teaching children what Mindfulness is, in a relatable way. "I walk, I work, I eat, I play, I rest..." Kids can relate with that because it lists the most basic things we all do. Then it talks about bringing your attention to the thing you are presently doing rather than the stress of "monkey mind" thoughts bouncing around. Cute illustrations too. We read this often.

This book is pretty cute, and I feel like it has helped the concept of mindfulness sink in a little more with my 4-year-old. That is, he UNDERSTANDS it. Practicing it is a different story.Update: My now 5-year-old actually PRACTICES mindfulness. It's amazing. I can't say that he learned it from me, since I struggle with the concept myself, so I attribute it to this book. :)

My three year old loves this book. The hidden ladybug was his favorite and when we talk about his day we go through the things in the book; did you read today? did you play today? etc. Totally recommend!

The simplicity of Mindfulness is often the most difficult aspect of it. This is not only true when trying develop your own Mindfulness practice, but also when trying to explain Mindfulness to others. Adding kids to the mix creates an abstract ideal that is often times well over their developmental level of understanding. As a psychologist who teaches Mindfulness to children, I can say that this simple and straight forward book brings Mindfulness out of the esoteric relm of its Bubahist roots by making it logical and enjoyable for all ages. The children I read this book too not only enjoy it, but immediately begin linking its simple message to their own lives. I think it is a great book to read before going to bed or in the morning to start the day.

...those of us who are older and read stories to children, and those being read to will enjoy this book. It is a fine lesson and reminder of the very basics of mindfulness. The text is very simple, my 2 year old enjoys it, as does my 5 year old. It is non-denominational.

Its ok, nice images, just not so interesting to follow for the kids .

Great lesson for elementary aged students.

Love this book. The pages are relaxing & inspiring. The paper is good quality standing up to to pencils and gel pens, although I'm not sure about markers.

This is a lovely Scriptural based coloring book from Christian Art Publishers. There are 55 pages of full designs as well as 7 pages of bookmarks, cards, and gift tags. All of the full designs in the book (as well as most of the extras) include a verse from The Psalms. The translations used are a variety: The Holy Bible NIV, the Holy Bible New Living Translation, the New King James Version and The Holy Bible English Standard Version.The Scripture is beautifully integrated into the lovely designs so that, while the words speak to the heart, the colorist can enjoy the beautiful illustrations as well. I like the there is such a large variety of designs but with the grounding of a single book of the Bible. The Psalms are the book I turn to when I am most troubled. The problems the Psalmist struggled with and the words he speaks to God usually find an echo in the things that I am struggling with as well.Here is a brief overview of what I found in this coloring book:62 Pages of Designs based on The PsalmsDesigns printed on one side of smooth, white, heavyweight perforated paperGlue BindingMost designs merge past perforations into the binding areaAlcohol-based makers bleed through the pageWater-based markers, India ink pens, and gel pens do not bleed through the page though gel pens require a longer than usual drying periodColoring pencils were mixed. I had good results with waxed-based soft lead pencils and hard lead pencils in general. Oil-based soft lead pencils laid down good color but did not blend well. Hard lead pencils did not dent the back of the page.I'm so pleased with the beautiful Scripture-based coloring books that I have found recently and am thankful to have found this one as well.

Just like "My Favorite KJV Verses to Color" this book is perfect! Again, the cover is beautiful and the pictures are wonderful. Bright white, thick paper that is perforated. The pictures are one sided which I love! Bic Mark Its and Sharpies bleed thru, so if you don't remove the picture from the book when you color be sure to put something behind it. One of my favorite books. You will really enjoy it!!

Thhis is the first time I have made such a purchase ! I am so happy coloring with My Children & Now My Younger Grandchildren.A Friend suggested I Try These~ At First,I thought a Bit silly but after I tried it,I Find it to be very relaxing! This was my first book & The Pictures are very detailed. There is a lot of Patience required.. Although I like the Bible verses I am going to look for one that doesn't require so much detail coloring.

The verses are well chosen, and the paper is good quality. But the pictures often don't relate to the verses at all. For example, for the verse "The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness" the picture is a bunch of flowers. Sometimes the connection is better, but it is pretty hit and miss. This makes it feel more like an ordinary coloring book and less like a reflection of the Psalms.

Very, very pleased. Great quality. Bonus in back of book, cards, bookmarks, gift cards. Create a unique gift to share. Loved it enough ordered 2 more for gifts. Great way to unwind and meditate on the Lord's word.

This was a gift for my mega religious mother. She passed it off as just a coloring book and handed it over for my niece to use. Once my niece cracked it open and my mother caught a glimpse of all the little sayings and intricate designs, she quickly took it back and fell in love with it. She didn't realize how theraputic and calming it was to color so she has discovered a new past time as well. I would definitely recommend this gift for your basic Christian.

This book is Beautiful! The Psalms are songs of praise to God and this book provides an alternate way to offer Him praise using inspired Scripture and our creative talents. Also, it's printed on heavy paper which is a big plus!

This coloring book is filled with beautiful pictures and a delightful selection of scriptures from the Psalms. The paper is high quality and I'm able to use both oil and water color pencils.Several coloring books I own seem a little redundant with the types of pictures they have for coloring. The Psalms in Color book has a nice variety and it doesn't feel like, "I just colored that!"A definite MUST for anyone who loves to color and loves the Psalms.
