I've spent some time with command line but now that I have need to create more complex (read = useful) programs, I sought out a reference source. The first three chapters cover fundamentals including scripting and have been very, very useful. Go through the examples and incorporate the suggestions into your work; I did, and the improvement in my skills has been very noticeable. The remaining chapters cover specific areas of sever and system management. The Appendix offers a quick reference to the most common commands. I pick and choose areas as I need; quick and efficient.One note of warning: when I take this with me, either to class or work, I find other people going "Oh! That's a great book. Let me just look up....." and off my copy goes. Be prepared ;)

I'm a professional IT analyst and there are times I can't remember commands that I haven't used in a while, and this thing is great. I've used it from just basic command stuff, to scripting. Love it!
Not what I expected, wanted a book on CMD got a book on automated process for admins through CMD.
I just started reading it and already I have learned many things. So far I have found the book well-written, simple, very easy to understand and to follow along. I look forward to learning much more.
