This book was exactly what I was looking for. It has information on all the Pokemon that have been released since the first generation. It has their stats, where you can find them, moves list (level, TM/HM, Egg, etc), a little description of each one, as well as a small tip for each one. All the Pokemon from Black/White have AR markers for your 3DS which is cool (though it doesn't have it for the previous generations which I wish it had). You can flip the cover over to see a full map of the Unova Region (though there are no maps of the other regions which I wish it had). There are several different sections on all moves, abilities and items. It also provides how to max out the National Dex. This isn't a Strategy Guide on how to beat the game but that is good because I didn't want that. A great book and a great size that you can carry easily. If only they had an ebook version so that I can have this in my Kindle.
This is the perfect guide for any Pokemon Black & White owner. This is the most helpful book for those who want to excel in the video games. This guide will help find ALL necessary items, from TMs to Pokemon. This guide can help get a trainer anywhere. The guide explains information that should have been mentioned in the previous generation, such as the sections on breeding Pokemon and their egg groups. It gives all the details necessary to complete the National Pokedex, such as importing Pokemon from other games. Also, it shows all the Pokemon locations (excluding Keldeo). Along with the Pokemon information, there are tips that can help trainers use train their Pokemon in a way that can help win battles and improve their skills. Unlike previous version, there are no simple mistakes. At the same time, the information will be hard to find because there is so much to look through. There are times when it is hard to search through the small book for the information desired. Overall, this is the best Pokemon Pokedex there is.
It is exactly what it says. The cover is actually a map of the entire region that slides right off, and is very helpful when you're on the hunt for pokemon! The only drawback I see is that the order of the pokemon or by number, as in their collectors number, which when trying to look up for weakness during battle is inefficient at best. It does have a glossary that puts them in alphabetical order, how most of us would look them up, which can direct you to the right page, but its an extra step. Over all an essential item for those actually wanting to collect them all.The pokemon stats are condensed onto two pages, so you have all the information in front of you. On the left hand page you have the pokemon and all evolutions along with how and what level they evolve and on the right you have all other pertaining information. Good resource all in all.
I was simply looking for a pokedex with all the pokemon, their evolutions, what level they learn their skills etc. This book does exactly that.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is of course, the lettering. I assumed when I read the other reviews that the buyers just needed to wear some glasses and stop exaggerating, but it's true. So unless you have good eyesight and don't require bright lights to read then you'll have no problem. I wish this book was bigger, but it fits in my purse and I can easily take it around so I don't mind too much
Excellent book! I have the first two books, but now I have the (nearly) complete Pokedex. It doesn't have Keldeo, Meloetta, or Genesect, though. Meh, it figures, since they're the most recent event Pokemon and I guess they didn't want to give TOO much away. But all the same, it's great I have this. For all you Pokemaniacs who wanna be up to date, if you can't visit the online sites (like Serebii.net) a whole lot, I recommend getting this book pronto.
I bought this off my mommy's account, and it's pretty good! It has useful information on the games (I have Pokemon White) and the poster on the dust jacket is detailed and, from what I can see, looks like the Unova region!
This book is great, it's like a little bible for pokemon enthusiasts.It's smaller than regular books, but it's got everything or most of the information one would need about every pokemon, including the new 5th generation pokes. It includes information as to which moves a poke can learn, it's evolutions, where to catch, and pretty much all info needed.Cons:- Tiny lettering, so if that bugs you, it might be a problem- The index should have been thought out in a better way to present the info the us users.
Overall, this is a good Pokedex that you can access 24/7 and will keep you from needing to be near an internet connection to check Bulbapedia all the time. However, it has flaws. Though it is portable, this also means tiny printing. A minor thing to overlook. However, their format and visual displays for information is a bit odd.Such as, they don't tell you much info about WHERE to catch or get Pokemon at, they don't offer much detail on their base stats, they don't tell you who the father Pokemon needs to be for egg moves, and they place page priority on the in-game Pokedex entries and "Tips and Tactics" over the more important information. I'd rather they spent more detail on the in-game locations and base stats than a giant box that tells you what the games Pokedex says and their own personal strategy for raising them. While these are appreciated, they don't need to take up more space on the page than the most important info. They also seem to be missing all Move Tutor moves in the guide, as well.Overall, its a useful guide and tells you *most* of the info you need to know, but it doesn't at all replace Bulbapedia or the internet and Prima usually makes much better and more detailed guides than this one, which is supposedly made BY The Pokemon Company. I'd trust Prima to making book guides over these guys, and use the internet more if near a computer or capable smartphone. I will say though, its still easier to read and more user-friendly than the Serebii.net Pokedex.
